Airports

Ennis Municipal Airport is located 2 miles west of downtown. Bordering Ennis Country Club and beautiful Lake Clark, this attractive airport has a 50' x 4,000' asphalt runway with fuel service available on-site from 8am-5pm. A VOR DME-A instrument approach for "all weather" operations is provided. This airport is classified as a general aviation airport.

The Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is located within a one hour drive of Ennis.  DFW International is the world’s third busiest airport, offering nearly 1,900 flights per day with service to over 170 locations worldwide.

Railroad

The Union Pacific Railroad System passes through Ennis, with a freight classification yard located in downtown Ennis and an industrial service switch and siding located just to the south side of National Drive at its connection to Knighthurst Road. The existing siding switch off the main Union Pacific track provides direct rail service to the Ennis Industrial Park. The rail-switching yard (110 lb. track) in the Ennis Industrial Park area includes a run-around side switching track (1,000 feet) that allows the switching of rail cars without movement onto the Union Pacific main line system and is capable of handling up to 15 switches per day. Transportation from Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio is accessible through Ennis with intermodal service in Dallas. Spotting and switching service is also available from 7am - 3 pm daily.
