The City of Ennis offers excellent benefits, including:
Health Insurance. Employees premiums are funded 84% by the City. For dependent coverage, employees are required to pay for eighteen (18) months at full premium cost, at which point the City assumes 84% of dependent premium cost.
Excellent Retirement Plan. Eligible employees contribute 7% toward retirement in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) and the City matches at a ratio of 2:1.
Life Insurance at Group Rates. Regular full time City employees can purchase life insurance at economical rates.
Dental Insurance at Group Rates. Regular full time City employees can participate in the city of Ennis dental benefits program at economical rates.
Paid Time Off. Regular ful time employees accrue 12 vacation days per year, 12 sick days per year, and 9 holidays, including: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and one (1) flexible holiday.
Longevity Pay. All regular full-time City employees receive an additional stipend per year of work for the City.
Health Club. City employees have access to the Lone Star Health Club at group rates.
Tuition Reimbursement. The City invests in it's workforce by paying for training or coursework that contributes to the employees job knowledge (subject to approval).
Worker's Compensation Insurance. Employees who are injured on the job are covered by the Worker's Compensation Act in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas.
